Being that it’s Monday and we tend to live for live music around here, we thought it would be prudent to share with you the tuneage happening around town this week. Oh, this is just a wee bit of what’s available. We need to update it a little more throughout the week, but these concerts should give you a good head start.
We’ve got another exciting week of live music ahead. A bunch of shows are coming into town hot and heavy. Just looking for a partner. Some eyes and ears to make love to. Stop being so conservative. Offer yourself up to some new music. It will be worth it.

As we get geared up for SXSW, our attention gets focused on the music. There’s going to be a ton on hand in the coming weeks. No better way to get yourself prepared than by getting your butt in a seat today. Our local acts are chomping at the bit to be noticed. Do the right thing. Notice them.
For instance… on Saturday Fitzgerald’s hosts Handsome Ransom, Rivers, Pleasure Shapes, and Future Blondes (all from Houston) along with St 37 and Mellow Riot for the low, low price of free or five bucks. Or maybe you need to be at Fitz the day after Valentine’s for Don’t Poke the Bear, PJ Bond, Prairie Cadets and Blackie Dammett for the same kind of deal.

It’s going to be another wild week of music. Have you made your plans yet? Didn’t think so.

Well, well, well… Didn’t think we’d see another “The Look Ahead.” Thank goodness, though. Right?
The music scene is really picking up in this early part of 2012. We feel downright obligated to tell you about it. We wouldn’t want to be so excited about things without passing the word along to our readers. So here it goes.
Tuesday, where have you been all my life? I’m glad you’re here because I’ve got a lot of living to do this week. Bring it on.
Looking for something to do this weekend? Of course you are. Might we point you in the direction of a few things? Of course we will.
Let’s first off recommend to you the 49th Annual Candlelight Tour by Heritage Society. It happens tonight and tomorrow from 6:30PM to 9:30PM. You can also stay in the same general area for the night by heading down to the Hobby Center for TUTS’ production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.
Sound tasty, don’t it. Let’s see what else we have in our magic bag of tricks.
… And just like that the week started to wrap up. We’ve had some good times. We’ve had some bad times. We’ve had a lot of times that were in between that are hard to remember because they were so blase. Tomorrow the weekend begins and for just a little while we’ll try to forget any of this has ever happened.
Wednesday is turning out to be A.O.K. Having found this little sack of happs around town has made it slightly better. Houston has once again given us presents in offering an endless bunch of to-dos.
We’re barely making it through today. We can’t imagine what the rest of the week is going to look like. Good thing we live for the moments we have after the whistle blows at 5:00PM.
