H-Town Showdown: Pearland Coffee Roasters vs. Saint Arnold Pub Crawl

More than a year’s worth of voting has come down to this one match. It’s the DRINK Category standing toe to toe with the EXPERIENCE Category. Who will win?

The Saint Arnold Pub Crawls have slugged it out with the Menil Collection, the Greek Festival, Lights in the Heights, and finally Riding Out a Hurricane. If that isn’t stout competition, we’re not sure what it is.

Pearland Coffee Roasters has handily beaten up  Anvil Bar & Refuge, the Harp, and Shoeshine Charlie’s Big Top Lounge, and most recently Zelko Bistro. In such a rough and tumble scene, how’d they do it?

It’s voting time. Cast yours to make sure your pick reigns supreme!

Seed #1 of the DRINK Category: Pearland Coffee Roasters
Pearland Coffee Roasters has been around for just under two years. If you haven’t been—I’m sorry. They’re roasting fair-trade coffee beans, brewing delicious beverages, and putting the burbs on the map for more than a place of chain establishments. They’ll probably never serve a Kona blend. Yah! We hates it. From those inside the loop, to Pearlanders that call themselves regulars, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone with an unkind word towards this thriving local shop. In fact, they’ve become so popular they’ve had to move into a larger space as of May, this year. While we haven’t hit the new digs just yet, we will.

Seed #1 of the EXPERIENCE Category: Saint Arnold Pub Crawl
When it comes to all things beer, there’s an overlord in town. That man is/was Saint Arnold. When the people behind the brewery call for the lovers of their suds to come out and enjoy a romp around the bars with them, Houstonians show up in throngs. Why wouldn’t they? A glass for the effort of drinking a couple of Houston-crafted beers (and each pub crawl highlights a particular seasonal, oh joy). What am I saying? You can’t even classify this as taking any “effort” at all. Whether Saint Arnold Brewery holds the pub crawl in Midtown, Montrose, West U, The Heights or Galveston, it’s a sight to behold.
