Loopster Live: Charlie Sexton at Under the Volcano

Charlie Sexton most widely known for his work with The Arc Angels performed what will likely be the most talked about intimate show of 2013 last week at Under the Volcano.

Sexton didn’t perform his biggest solo hit, but played many crowd favorites from his many collaborative years as well as many blues covers. a near packed house was filled with familiar faces in the music community — band members, critics, photographers, and those devoted music fans that you just seem to run into at live shows so often.

Generous to his bandmates and fans, Sexton stuck around for an hour afterwards in an informal meet & greet, posing with many eager female fans.

Sexton closed the night with a Dave Edmunds cover, “Crawling from the Wreckage.” Many of us will put this near our top Sexton performances given the sense that he was simply playing to a living room full of old friends. But here’s hoping Sexton is up and running full speed soon.
