Loopster Live: Quiet Company, The Literary Greats and Poor Pilate at Fitzgerald’s

I’ll admit, the reason that I ended up at Fitzgerald’s on Friday night was to see The Literary Greats. Everything else would just be a bonus, but I wasn’t really looking for much. After 45 minutes of Poor Pilate, I was itching to get home to download their album. When Quiet Company finished their set, I immediately left even though Finnegan was still due up. I was riding a high that I wanted to let stew for a while.

Instead of getting into the nitty gritty of “X sounds like Y with a little Z” I’m just going to leave you with the photos and urge you to pick up the albums. Poor Pilates’ eponymous debut (which was previously described to me as “the best $8 you can spend on music right now”), The Literary Greats’ Black Blizzard, and Quiet Company’s We Are All Where We Belong.

You can check out a bunch of videos from the show from YouTube user mlgolden67. We posted our favorite at the bottom in case you’re too lazy to go all the way to YouTube. Also, it has very pertinent information about Quiet Company’s next Houston gig when they’ll be playing an in-store at Cactus as well as at House of Blues later that night.
