NEWScoop: Hunter’s SHO, Stop and Drop, Magic School Bus, Sign Stealers and Memorial Hermann Ironman

A SHO Title for Hunter
The hottest golf ticket in town turned out to also be the windiest. Hunter Mahan rose the crystal trophy when it was all said and done for his second PGA victory of 2012.  Now, the top ranked American at #4 in the standings, Mahan heads into the 2012 Masters. Just the way the SHO drew it up. Visit Chron.com for more.

Stop, Drop, Shut ‘Em Down, Open Up Shop
After a motorcyclist decided he wouldn’t “stop” or “drop”, officers finally had to fire off a warning shot. Apparently, the rider only brought narcotics to this gun fight and quickly surrendered. Visit MyFoxHouston for more.

School’s Out for Buses
A couple of heroes took to the bus barn in Crosby to deliver a message to students and parents… “Buses are for suckers.” The valve stems were cut on almost all of the yellow rides this morning. Our heroes spared the special needs buses, however. See? A vandal can have a conscience. Visit Khou.com for more.

The Politics of Political Signage
A simple smear campaign might be your mode of choice if you want to get into politics. But, what name is there to smear if the other candidate is a virtual unknown? None! And that makes things easy. There’s a political bandit on the loose, paying kids to take down opponents signage in the hopes of getting a leg up on the race. Visit YourHoustonNews for more.

Gah! Lance Armstrong is the WORST
What’s more disappointing: Lance Armstrong in 7th place or the fact that he snubbed his daughter at the finish line (video)? Just kidding. I’m sure there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for not diving into your loved one’s arms after a grueling four hours of swim/bike/run. Congratulations to Lance and the rest of the finishers at the Ironman race in Galveston this weekend. Visit Click2Houston for more.
