NEWScoop: Roads, Boreders, Moon Machines, Awesome, and Chicken

Paving the Road
As far as we’re concerned, Good Dog Hot Dog was the very first kitchen on wheels in Houston… Nay! The WORLD! Oh, that wasn’t the case? You mean food trucks have been around for decades? Taco trucks, even? What is this word: “tah-coeh?” I’ve never heard such syllables joined together. Visit GunsandTacos for more on this story.

Boarders? More like BOREders? AMIRITE?!
Say goodbye one last time. Borders be closing. Mega-chains can’t hang with the interwebz. Let’s hope the same can’t be said about some of our local bookstores. Borders might be shelved, but that doesn’t mean Domy, Brazos Bookstore, Kaboom Books, 1/4 Price Books, Murder by the Book, etc. are going anywhere. Right? RIGHT?! Visit IndieReader for more on this story.

Let the Machines Do the Dirty Work
NASA sends two T-100’s to the surface of the moon where they will test their surroundings in a complicated scientific game of cat and mouse. The goal: to explore and map the surface in preparation for the day Skynet becomes self aware—mankind will need a plan of retreat. Visit MyFoxHouston for more on this story.

Record Drought Calls for Record Awesome
Pipes, mains, and spigots have been bursting all over Houston, that’s old news. NEW news comes to us as Houston’s utility workers have mooned the shifting ground and fixed a supposed 121 breaks in one day. Visit MyFoxHouston for more.

Chicken with the Train on Main
A woman was struck by one of several silent trains running through Houston on Sunday. The train took her more than 15 feet before realizing it had done wrong. The victim was taken to the hospital. The train has issued no apology as of yet. Visit KHOU for more on this story.
