Staff Notes and Photos: Eisley Astronauts Houston

Yes, “astronaut” is now also a verb. For those of you in the know, we have some t-shirts that we’ve been selling. Eisley didn’t buy any (as far as we know), but they certainly appreciated the gift that my girlfriend insisted on bringing them.

That’s Chauntelle DuPree of Eisley holding up her very own “I Astronaut Houston” t-shirt. After the show, she came out to meet and greet her fans and had the shirt draped over her shoulder. The door man, David, had relayed the gifts down the Warehouse Live hallway to the band. Apparently, they were a hit.

And so was the music of Eisley.

I couldn’t count myself in the ranks of fandom before the show. Only vaguely familiar with the music, I was really just at Warehouse Live for a good time and to payback my girlfriend for all the unknown, indie troupes I’ve made her see. The family DuPree from Tyler, TX put on a great show and the Houston crowd was behind them the whole way.

It looks like we had a mutually beneficial thing going on with Eisley. They accepted our shirts. I came away impressed with the show. It’s win-win all the way around.

Good thinking, girlfriend, re: bring extra t-shirts! The t-shirts are great.
