Staff Notes and Photos: Reach for the Sky

A couple weeks ago, Richard met me with a challenge: Find public art to photograph. Why I haven’t thought of this before, well… I must be pretty naive. So on foot I went trying to find some sculpture or mural or other such pretty things to put in my portfolio (if I can be so crass as to call it that).

This is where I’m supposed to tell you the artist and the name of the sculpture, but like a true gentleman, I’ve forgotten to note either of them. I can tell you that this red monstrosity is in Stude Park and you’ve probably ignored it ever time you’ve bolted from downtown along I-10 West.

Update: Thanks to Groovehouse, I now know this is “Houston” by Mac Whitney.
