Thursday brings with it a fresh start. It also brings more events for us to stick our faces in to. If there’s one thing we Houstonians lurv, it’s putting things in our faces. You take that where you want to.
Warehouse Live Studio provided an intimate setting for Pale’s CD release party for In the Time of Dangerous Men last Thursday and long-standing fans, friends, and family were on hand to provide moral support. 103.7’s Donna McKenzie delivered an adjective-laden lovefest-intro that seemed to embarrass singer Calvin Stanley, or perhaps experience has taught him not to let the promise of words get in the way when performance can set the record straight.
This beautiful day has us all in a tizzy. Yes, I said “tizzy.” We almost forgot to publish one of these here The Look Aheads because we were too busy daydreaming about the world outside. Fear not. We’ve come through for you.

Monday flew by and Tuesday is bearing down. That’s the way these weeks work. No point in complaining about it. Tuesday used to be our favorite day, because it always (and I mean “always”) signaled going to the Harp for trivia. One of these days we’ll make a return visit to our haunt. For now, there’s just way too much to tell you about.
I’m tired of making up introductions today. Let’s just pretend that I said something witty or interesting or relevant and move on to the meat of the matter: Events.

Good Summer to you all. Appropriately, the longest day of the year falls on Monday. Every Monday feels like the longest, so this one should just cruise on by like nothing is different. I would warn you against the triple digit temperatures and outrageous humidity we’re about to be experiencing, but those things have been stifling us for the last two months. Enjoy this weather while it lasts. In six months when the two weeks of 40 degree temps roll around and every native Texan is freaking out and damning Global Warming with every breath you’re going to miss them.
Plenty of you have already made plans to celebrate Ireland’s gift to the drinkers of the world. Actually, there are some that have already begun the festivities. To them, we bid Slainte and turn our attention to the undecided Loopsters.
Partying for Saint Patrick’s Day is a relatively simple art form, but it’s easy to overlook some of the intricacies. That’s why we’re here. The Loop Scoop is all about pulling back the veil on Houston and kissing the Irish right out of her.
We’re a small operation, but we cover a lot of ground. Sometimes it’s hard to sit down and write out an in depth experience about the places we go to every week.
