Final Four Field Guide: Butler University

With all the fans coming into town this weekend for the Final Four, we realized that we needed to do what we could to help them out. Using some brash generalizations and stereotypes we’ve decided on a few places we could send the fans of Kentucky, Butler, Virgina Commonwealth and UConn. You’re welcome.

Butler University

All you need to know: Just like the Kool-Aid Man, Butler is once again busting down the walls of the tournament to the delight of all the kiddos. The Bulldogs may not be as prone to property damage, but we still wouldn’t drink from that pitcher; the infamous Jim Jones is a distinguished alumnus, receiving an honorary, post-mortem doctorate in crazy.

The Procrastinator’s Plan 10.14.10

I think that every TV channel should have a permanent home on the dial. Every time I travel somewhere, the tv channels are always different and it sucks. I can’t sit down and turn on the Football game on ESPN because I don’t know what channel ESPN is. Good luck getting caught up on the news when you don’t know how to find CNN. How hard would it be to have a national listing that mandates the number for each channel. ABC can be 1, CBS 2 and NBC 3. Fox, because of its amazing programming, can be 90. When I run for President, I think that would be the basis of my platform. Screw healthcare, gun control and the budget. I’m focusing on the important stuff. Standardizing TV channels so I don’t have to get up off the couch to look for a guide, no matter what city I’m in.

First Dates in Houston: A Post Repurposed

A couple weeks back The Loop Scoop was asked by Click2Houston to write a blog post for them about first dates. At that time Paul admitted that he was bad at first dates and dates in general, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t know a thing or two of what he should do when it comes to the nerve-racking first meeting. The Procrastinator’s Plan 4.9.10

Another week has come and gone and once again I put off The Procrastinator’s Plan until the last minute. Force of habit, I guess. There’s a lot going on this weekend, so make sure you get out there and experience this great city of ours and the great weather. I know that’s what I plan to do, if I ever get around to it.

The Week That Was (12.20.09)

We’re a small operation, but we cover a lot of ground. Sometimes it’s hard to sit down and write out an in depth experience about the places we go to every week. To compensate for that we’ll publish a sweet little ditty about the notable adventures of The Loop Scoop every Monday. Where did we go? What did we hear? What did we eat, drink and see? These are all questions that we ask each other and we’ll answer for you in our public forum. Enjoy.

This Week: Pub Trivia, FRIDAY prix fixe LUNCH, The Spazmatics, The Loop Scoop Meeting, Foundation Room, Agora and Anvil on a Saturday night
