NEWScoop: Underwear Run, Scope Cocktails, Three-Second Inspiration, Craftier Brewing and Coke Wins Wars

In The Least Likely of Places
Setting a world record for an underwear run in Salt Lake City is on par with having the gluttony championships in Somalia. Leave it to the state that banned broadcasts of the Playboy Club (may it rest in peace) to un-prude a panty raid long enough to get scripted in the Guinness Book. Visit ABC13 for more on this story.

I Guess it Beats Scope?
Somebody get Bobby Heugel on the line. New Zealand inmates are now the finest purveyors of offbeat cocktails. We’ll call it the Singapore Sanitizer, maybe. Necessity is the mother of invention.  Perhaps Anvil can also pick up on Sean Astin’s Scope on the Rocks as well. Visit MyFoxHouston for more on this story.

Guns Don’t Win Wars, Plent of Coke Wins Wars
Priorities cannot be argued with. Even during WWI, our troops needed the proper gear to restore order. Dr. Pepper was only a mere thirty years old at the time, so our troops at Camp MacArthur, Waco appealed to Coca Cola instead to defeat the evils of Heat and Thirst. You see, there has always been an Axis of Evil. It has just taken different forms through the years. Visit Letters of Note for more on this story.

Just Plain Awesome
Want to be inspired in less than three seconds? You will want to click this link. A graduate of the Foundation for the Blind throws a strike for the ceremonial first pitch at game four of the NLDS in Arizona. Visit The Daily What for more on this story.

If the Big Get Bigger, The Craft Must Get Craftier
Great news for people that don’t really understand beer. Talks of an AB InBev takeover of SABMiller would mean that a third of the world’s beer would be produced by one entity. In essence, what is watered down now is just going to get more so. Luckily, any decent drinker doesn’t really care for such speculation or takeover talk. We’ll take our “lowly” brewing artisans any day of the week. Wake me when ABInBevSABMiller decides to gobble up Saint Arnold, No Label, Southern Star, etc.. That’s when I’ll start caring. One Small Step for Man, One Steep Slope for Mankind
A half of a percent. That’s all it takes for Weingarten Realty to poop its pants and rip up some history.  Visit Swamplot for more on this story.
