The Look Ahead: Artist SPEAKeasy, Big Summer Yoga and A Jazzy Night of Music & Dance

You made it through Monday. Now the battle will be to take hold of Tuesday by the throat and rip it out… wait. What? I’ve been watching too much Game of Thrones lately. I’ll try to keep the bloodlust to a minimum today for your sake. Let’s take a look at what the week has in store.

From New Jersey and Dallas respectively, Kerry Adams and Kristy Peet will display their art at the new-ish Spacetaker ARC (Artist Resource Center) tomorrow, Wednesday 6/15.  Both artists will be on hand to present their work as well as take part in a question and answer segment with you, the audience. At the low-low price of “free,” this is an art and culture event you can’t pass up.

We’re having a yoga class set to music by DJ Sun and then we will have an art opening and artist’s reception with Steve Lawrence, an amazing visual artist from Dallas and DJ Sun will spin for part of the reception. Come celebrate the inaugural season of Urban Souls Dance Company this weekend with a night dedicated to the jazzier things in life. The event will feature “Pluck’d by Duke” a tribute to Houston jazz legend Barrie Lee Hall Jr.. All of this will happen on the Houston Baptist University campus and will be directed by Harrison Guy with live music by The Conrad Johnson and Barrie Hall Big Blue Sound.
