The Look Ahead: Beer Dinner, Arts Market, Mutt Strut and Hayes Carll

I started my weekend last night at The Walkmen show. The grogginess doesn’t abate. This is what I get for hanging out with Sarah and her posse of bad influences. Finishing off the night with a tall glass of vodka didn’t seem like a good idea at the time and has proven an even worse idea now.

It’s time to sober up again, though. Why? Because it’s almost time to start drinking again. There are plenty of reasons to throw back a tall one or six. And that’s not only at the event that is purely about beer. Yes, as with all fruitful weekends there is an event that revolves around craft brew.

If we need to know about an upcoming event leave a comment, tweet at us (@TheLoopScoop) or email us at contact@theloopscoop.com.

I have been dog sitting for the last nine days. Surprisingly, there is no blood on my hands. I have proved to be a responsible pet sitter. In fact, I’m three steps closer to owning a dog myself. It might soon be time to make my trip to the Houston SPCA. First, however, I might take Timmy on a nice little Mutt Strut.

Hayes Carll Free Show at Cactus Music

Where: Montrose / River Oaks [2110 Portsmouth St., 77098]
When: Saturday, March 5th at 4:30PM
How much: Free
Scoop’d from: Email

Let me get this off my chest: Cactus Music, I hate your auto-playing website. Now that we have that out of the way, I love your store. As always, Cactus is hosting free live shows. This weekend happens to be a big name. Hayes Carll will be stopping by to play a short set at one of our favorite music spots on Saturday, March 5th. Carll has been getting a lot of press lately, and for good reason. Spin Magazine just called him one of the “next big things” in music. Not bad for a guy that has been around for a while.

CityCentre Spring Market Registration (pdf)

We know how much out-of-loopers love CITYCENTRE out of the ten main contributors for The Loop Scoop, we’ve been there a combined three times. Anyway, just in case you’re interested, CITYCENTRE is accepting registration of vendors for their Spring Market. So, if you’ve got something to sell, you must buy your space first. Do it.
