The Look Ahead: Charles Dutton, Jester King and Paris Falls
Give it up for gloomy mornings. Two in a row. That’s the kind of streak I’d like to see go the distance. Not only was I depressed about having to wake up to make my ridiculous trek to work, but I can’t even enjoy some sunshine along the way.
Never fear, we’ve got events to anticipate.
If we need to know about an upcoming event leave a comment, tweet at us (@TheLoopScoop) or email us at email@example.com.
From Jail to Yale: Serving Time on Stage by Charles S. Dutton
From the mean streets of Balitmore to the groundskeeper of Notre Dame, that’s been Charles S. Dutton’s path. The first part of that sentence is true, the second is his character in the make-full-grown-men-weep classic, Rudy. From Jail to Yale is Dutton’s one-man show which has received critical acclaim. One of his stops on the 10-city tour is Houston. Time to take advantage. Proceed benefit the US Dream Academy.
Jester King Event at Anvil Bar & Refuge
According to Barley Vine, the Austin-based brewery Jester King, will be supply two casks and three kegs (including Black Metal Royal Imperial Stout – label above) for the Saturday tour de beer at Anvil. I think I just heard the hops-heads of Houston just cheer in unison. I’m going to predict this is going to be a crowded engagement, so get their early, camp out on the sidewalk, bring provisions, etc.
Paris Falls at Cactus Music (Free Show)
Did you miss the album release party for Paris Falls in January? I hope you’re planning to rectify that mistake. On Saturday you’ll have a chance to make up for it. Be at Cactus Music at 1:00PM to see the Houston band for free – plus, take advantage of some free brew from Saint Arnold’s.
