The Look Ahead: Creperie, Planetarium and Ella Fitzgerald

It’s Thursday. The start of the weekend… No? That’s not right? Well, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle.

Either way, it’s time to start figuring out the plans. Go out tonight, show up to work late tomorrow or not at all. It’s never too late to become a disgruntled employee. Take it from me. I have a nice little streak of absences. Nine to be exact.

If we need to know about an upcoming event leave a comment, tweet at us (@TheLoopScoop) or email us at contact@theloopscoop.com.

Melange Creperie Doin’ Their Thing

Where: Montrose [Taft and Westheimer, Houston 77006]
When: Thursday, February 17th 8:00AM to 1:00PM
How much: $5 or $6 or maybe $7
Scoop’d from: @MelangeCreperie

They are there almost every day, but sometimes we need a reminder to visit. Consider this your reminder. Check out the gang of Melange Creperie today for lunch. All the stuff you want bundled up into a delicious, delicate crepe. It can all be yours. Made right in front of you as only street food can be.

Earth’s Wild Ride at HMNS

When: February 17th through April 14th at 11:30AM
How much: $8 Adult; $7 Children and Seniors
Scoop’d from: HMNS.org

The last time you were at a Planetarium you were 8 years old (or you were chaperoning your 8 year old’s field trip). Time to buck that trend. Check out the Burke Baker Planetarium at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Today through April 14th they will be showing “Earth’s Wild Ride“, a vision of our home planet from a future moon colony. The Loop Scoop’s goal is to be the first Houston publication to have an office on the moon. We will be going for research purposes.

Ella at the Wortham Cullen Theater

Where: Downtown [501 Texas Ave., 77002]
When: Thursday and Friday, February 17th and 18th at 8:00PM
How much: $54, $44 or $24
Scoop’d from: SPAHouston.org

Ella, Ella, Ella, eh, eh, eh… Ok. I’m done. For the record, Rihanna doesn’t hold a candle to Ella Fitzgerald. You can take that to the bank. A theatrical presentation of the life and times of Ella is being presented by the Society for the Performing Arts tonight and tomorrow. Check out the video preview above. Tina Fabrique portrays the iconic singer in the performance that you’ll be sure to remember.
