The Look Ahead: Croucher, Ozzy and Yeager Shows

We’re dissolving two of our favorite columns, Your Regular Scoop of Houston and Procrastinator’s Plan, and giving them a new look this year. Gone is the single serving of events in Houston. Here is a five-times-a-week battery of things to do. We will publish a few events every morning. If we’ve missed something let us know with an email to contact@theloopscoop.com or tweet at us @TheLoopScoop.

Brant Lee Croucher Old Denton Roads CD Release Party at The Mucky Duck

Where: Upper Kirby [2425 Norfolk Street, 77098]
When: Tuesday, January 18th at 7:30PM
How much: $15
Scoop’d from: The Duck’s Calendar

Realizing the err in his ways, Brant Lee Croucher moved back to Houston from Austin recently which gives us the pleasure of having the opportunity of attending his debut album release party. The Duck’s website says that on Old Denton Roads “Croucher played guitar, piano, harmonica, and percussion on the album, which dances effortlessly between country, Americana, and pop.” Sounds like my kind of music.

Ozzy Osbourne at Toyota Center

Where: Downtown [1510 Polk Street, 77002]
When: Tuesday, January 18th; Doors open at 6:30PM
How much: $79.50, $49.50, $25
Scoop’d from: ToyotaCenterTix

You’re as surprised as I am that Ozzy still tours constantly. I’m pretty sure that’s all he knows how to do at this point. Then again, my extent of knowledge about the man is limited to an MTV reality show and a handful of listenings to “Crazy Train”. Tickets are still available, so scoop them up and head downtown for the show.

Buck Yeager Band at Armadillo Palace

Where: West U [5015 Kirby Drive, 77098]
When: Thursday, January 20th at 8:30PM
How much: No Cover
Scoop’d from: Armadillo Palace Calendar

Time to check out one of Houston’s (or the Woodlands’) country favorites at the Palace. Not having to pay a cover at the door is always worth it. This is just a little more worth it than others. Catch up on a little YouTube goodness… plays through the car alarm and everything.
