The Look Ahead: Dog Adoptions, Red Barrels and The Dodos

Time’s just rolling on today, isn’t it. Those hands don’t wait on nobody. That’s a good thing and a bad thing. Without further ado, let’s check out the events you won’t want to miss.

Scoop’d from: @HoustonDogBlog

For the last few months I’ve been considering adopting a puppy. Yes, it’s true. I might not be able to make it all the way to Conroe to take advantage of the Montgomery County Adoption Center’s deal, but that doesn’t make it any less reinforcing of my desires.

Red Barrel Program 25th BirthdayHouston Food Bank Donations

When: TODAY, Wednesday, August 31st
How much: As much as you can… get it?
Scoop’d from: @FoodiePRPaula and @FoodPrincess

Join the Houston Food Bank today as they collect donations outside of a few area grocery stores. On your weekly trip out to the mart, make sure to buy a couple of extra boxes and cans for the red barrel. You’ll be doing yourself and someone in need a good favor.

The Dodos with The Luyas at Fitzgerald’s

Where: Fitzgerald’s – The Heights [2706 White Oak Dr., 77007]
When: Saturday, September 3rd | Doors at 8:00PM
How much: $12.00 in Advance; $14.00 at the Door
Scoop’d from: Paul

The duo out of San Francisco is something to get excited about this weekend. Well, as long as you’re not too excited for the start of college football, that is. For Paul, he’ll be at the mid-afternoon game at Robertson Stadium and then dusting off his dancing shoes for The Dodos later that night. It’s a twofer.
