The Look Ahead: Farmers Market, Dancin’ in the Streets and Mudbugs & Guitars

We’re a little bit behind schedule today. For that we apologize, but let us make it up to you with some help scheduling the rest of your week. That’s right, it’s time for The Look Ahead once again. Your 5-times-a-week stop on The Loop Scoop’s circuit of events happening in Houston and nearby.

Houston Farmers Market at Rice University

Where: Rice University [2160 University Blvd., 77005]
When: Tuesday, May 24th | 3:30PM to 7:30PM
How Much: Free + Cost of Produce
Scoop’d From:  Richard

As spring begins to wind down, farmers market season starts to amp up. There’s never not a season for nothing… Wait, that’s confusing. Produce always has a season. If you’re in the West University area this afternoon, you should be stopping by the Rice campus to get your pre-grub on. Grab a handful of freshly grown fare for the family dinner tonight. It’ll do you good.

Dancin’ in the Streets: Motown and More Revue at Miller Outdoor

Where: Museum District [6000 Hermann Park Dr., 77030]
When: Thursday, May 26th | 8:15PM to 10:45PM
How Much: Free
Scoop’d From:  Richard

“This electrifying and soulful revue features many of Houston’s most talented vocalists and dancers, accompanied by the 23-piece BACEMENT Orchestra.” Soul is one of those genres of music that will always be timeless. All songs are an expression of emotion, but soul seems to be the most so. That’s why we’re recommending this performance at Miller Outdoor Theater on Thursday.

Mudbugs and Guitars (Supporting Heroes of Holden)

Where: Pasadena Convention Center [7902 Fairmont Pkwy., 77507]
When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 27th, 28th and 29th
How Much: $40 All Weekend | $10 Friday and Sunday | $25 Saturday
Scoop’d From:  Richard

We can think of very few things that would trump an all-weekend crawfish and Texas music festival. At the moment, we can’t think of a better way to spend our weekend, even if it’s in Pasadena. All of the proceeds go to help out a number of great causes including Heroes of Holden, Fighting Blindness and a Mudbug Scholarship Fund.

“Mudbug Scholarship Fund” – because a mudbug mind is a terrible thing to waste?

How does that jibe with “You gotta suck da head on dem crawfish!!!”?
