The Look Ahead: Farmers Market, Gaither Comedy and Stay WARM!

We’re dissolving two of our favorite columns, Your Regular Scoop of Houston and Procrastinator’s Plan, and giving them a new look this year. Gone is the single serving of events in Houston. Here is a five-times-a-week battery of things to do. We will publish a few events every morning. If we’ve missed something let us know with an email to contact@theloopscoop.com or tweet at us @TheLoopScoop.

You’re cold? Think of all the produce. Ever heard the term “cool as a cucumber?” Well, yeah, them cucumbers are downright freezing this morning. Being the good Samaritan you are, you need to go bring a couple in from the 20-degree temps and give them a nice home. Plus, treat yourself to a good meal from one of the food trucks.

Tim Gaither Stand-Up at Houston Improv

When: Wednesday, February 2nd at 8PM
How much: $10 plus two drinks
Scoop’d from: Improv.com

The man from southern Arkansas brings his comic talents to Houston tonight. You’ll find his twang disarming and his jokes hilarious. You haven’t heard of him yet, but it’s only a matter of time before everyone else has and you’re left out in the dark.

Stay Warm

Where: Your Home or Office [Houston]
When: Wednesday, February 2nd through Friday, February 5th
How much: Free
Scoop’d from: Walking the hell outside!

Seriously, people. Stay warm these next couple days. Our area is going to be affected by rolling blackouts and temperatures in the 20s for the next three days. I don’t care that Punxsutawney Phil said there would be an early spring. As far as we’re concerned this winter feels like it will last forever. That being said, the Guinea Hogs at Houston Zoo will be doing their own version of Groundhog’s Day by picking beach ball or snow ball today at 11AM.
