The Look Ahead: Going Local, Watching Footie, Tasting Painting
Wednesday sure has been “hump day” as in it’s turned me over and had its way with me. Yes, that’s a bit graphic. No, I’m not sorry. We’re all adults here… Right? Let’s get our groove on with some events.
Where: Downtown – Continental Center [The lawn at 1600 Smith St., 77002]
When: Thursday, September 15th | 11:00AM to 1:00PM
How Much: Free plus the feeling in your heart for supporting local
Scoop’d from: @imelda
We just came across this because of our friend Imelda. You’re going to have to check it out for yourself to get an idea of what to expect. Looks like they’re billing local crafts, food and art. Sounds like you can’t go wrong if you’re downtown for lunch tomorrow.
Man U v. Chelsea at Bar Munich
Where: Midtown [2616 Louisiana St., TX 77006]
When: Sunday, September 18 @ 10:00am
How Much: No cover, just however much you spend on das boots and pretzels. Plus, however much you lose betting against Chelsea [what? too biased?]
Scoop’d from: Kerri
Bar Munich now opens early on weekends for many of the key Premier League matches, offering a viable alternative to soccer fans who may be a bit weary of watching the Richmond Arms regulars pour that suspicious brown sauce over everything from their eggs to their fries (excuse me, their chips). This Sunday at Bar Munich, it will be the fabled rivalry between Manchester United and Chelsea. And after that football, stick around for the other football with the NFL kicking off at noon and specials on Hofbrau liters (all on tap!) all day.
