The Look Ahead: Japan Festival, World Fest: Houston International Film Festival and Midtown Visions
All this looking forward to the weekend and we still have no idea what we’re going to do. We feel like we’ve done so much throughout the week already. How can we even get the energy or the courage to put more events under our belt.
Thanks to the Stick ‘Em Up screening last night, we have a little more umph in our step. A project that took more than two years and 55 hours of filming that finally came together last night gives us the inspiration to make our week full of seven days of activities.
Japan couldn’t be more on the brain lately. With the earthquake and tsunami on the front page every day, we are constantly reminded that they need our help and donations. This weekend, you’ll be provided with another opportunity to donate to the relief in Japan while rounding out your cultural knowledge at the same time. Imelda has promised us that she’ll be at the Japan Festival so even if you can’t make it, look forward to a photo essay next week.
From seminars to premiers, the next 10 days are going to be full of a little bit of both. Thanks to the Houston Film Society, the 44th annual World Fest gets kicked off today. Sure to draw the international crowd of movie-makers and fans, you’ll be able to find something that interests you within the itinerary.
