The Look Ahead: Marie, Marco and Vincent
Two more days. Just two more days and freedom will be all ours. Hang in there.
With spring approaching it seems like there are a lot more events to schedule. That’s good for my need of things to do. Bad for my quest for rest and relaxation.
If we need to know about an upcoming event leave a comment, tweet at us (@TheLoopScoop) or email us at email@example.com.
Marie by Houston Ballet
Cake eaters. You’re all cake eaters. Every last one of ya. No, it wasn’t the Mighty Ducks that coined the term, it was Marie Antoinette. From Thursday, February 24th through Sunday, March 6th, the Houston Ballet will be performing “Marie” under the direction of Stanton Welch. As a special treat, concessions will only be cake. Maybe.
The Set List: Concert Photography by Marco Torres
You remember Marco from such hits as the Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz photo of the week or pretty much any time you pick up the Houston Press. With a knack for shooting concerts and hunting down street art, he’s carved out quite the niche in the freelance photography market. Check out his concert photography show at Dionysus Salon this Friday.
On loan from the National Gallery of Art, the masterpieces of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionists will be on display for a couple more months. Don’t delay, however. Just because you think you’ll get to it next week doesn’t mean you won’t find another reason to procrastinate going to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Get your Mary Cassatt, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Vincent van Gogh, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec on today.
