The Look Ahead: Rodeo Queen, Dem Damn Dames, Burned Out, Flock to the Catwalk, Grown-Up Story Time
It has been fifteen months and six days since the last iteration of The Look Ahead has graced the pages of this fair site. To say we are rusty is an understatement. Lend a blog a helping hand.

Through a little bit of scrounging, we have a few events to share with you this week. A couple of concerts, a burlesque review, grown-ups telling grown-up stories and even a fundraising event. Oh, what a week it will be.
Rodeo Queen at Warehouse Live — Debut Album Release Party
Rodeo Queen will hit the stage in support of his debut album Goodness Gracious in two short days. Sure, that’s not a lot of time to prepare yourself, but these things rarely need advance warning. A new artist calling Houston his home should be your call to arms. You can check out three songs from the debut right now, my personal favorite being “Buzzard’s Choke.” I’m a sucker for hollow, distorted guitar and backing organ, what can I say. Paul Banks will be there to warm up the crowd.
Update: You can now download the debut ahead of the show. Click Here
We’ve seen a couple members of Dem Damn Dames perform before and it’s a hell of an experience. On this night you should “Join the fabulous Houston-based ladies as they present a night of espionage and debauchery in FROM HOUSTON, WITH LOVE. Equip your latest spy gadgets and your sexiest Bond girl dress for this premier Houston burlesque show.”
Craig Kinsey Presents: Burned Out V
Espantapajaros + Poor Pilate + Craig Kinsey
We’ve been big fans of the Burned Out series since it’s genesis. We’re not going to stop now… not with The Loop Scoop making a comeback. It’s time to get back to our roots and the set list of old tunes performed by some of our favorite Houston bands is just the ticket.
