The Look Ahead: The Bright Light Social Hour at Warehouse Live, Houston Beer Fest and Blondes vs. Brunettes
It’s hump day. How do you celebrate? Maybe you’re going to take up Liberty Station and Good Dog Hot Dog on their offer to make you drinks and dogs tonight. That’s certainly an option. But what about this weekend? Get ready, Houston. It’s going to be another busy one.
It’s been three months since the Spring Forward Music Festival and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about The Bright Light Social Hour. They came, they played, they stole my heart and never called afterward. That’s ok, because on Friday they’re coming back to town. The Bright Light Social Hour and their funk-influenced rock ‘n roll will set the stage for Heartless Bastards at Warehouse Live on June 10th. If you’ve ever thought to listen to me about attending a show, this is the one to do it. We’ll have an album review and show preview tomorrow, but don’t wait to buy your tickets.

Blondes vs. Brunettes 2011: Powder Puff Football
A flag football match for the ages will happen this Saturday. Houston blondes will take on Houston brunettes in a no holds barred grudge-match on the gridiron. It all goes to support a great cause in raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. Pick your favorite hair color and support a team as well as the beneficiary.
