What’d We Miss: 8.8.11 Weekly Reader

We’re ready to conquer another week. What about you? Let’s take a look at the meager accomplishments of yesterweek and move on ahead.

Staff Notes and Photos: Dog Day Afternoon by Paul
The menu cover page at Baby Barnaby’s should get you dreaming about breakfast.

Album Review: Suck It and See by Arctic Monkeys by Jordan
Just before the concert at House of Blues, Jordan stopped by to offer his two cents about the disappointing fourth album by Arctic Monkeys. Things left to be desired by the studio album were surely fulfilled at the concert.

Street Art of the Week: A Trifecta
This image came in from the artist Red. It’s a hodge-podge of art. Three pieces in the same location, in fact.

Postcards from Houston: Art Deco and the Founding Families by Richard
The second of four classes reminds Richard once again that he knows very little about Houston. He’s yet to figure out what his concept will be for the postcard he must create to “pass” the class. We’ll see if he can figure it out by the end of the series.

Where’s Pauldo (ep. 75)
Another week, another puzzle solved in the first comment. These are getting too easy.

Dear Houston: Prayin’ It Ain’t So by Tea Jones
Now that it’s all over, you may have an opinion of your own, but long before the prayer day at Reliant Stadium this weekend, Tea Jones tapped into the Houston spirit to offer some thoughts. What say you, reader of the Scoop?

Photo of the Week: People. Gulls. Beach
E.Caves pulls another rabbit out of his hat for a great photo. That’s a beach we want to be on right now. Screw this heat. Give me some clouds and a cool breeze.
